As Chief Design Officer, Josh leads Cake & Arrow’s multidisciplinary design program and is responsible for company strategy, creative vision and user experience. He works directly with clients to create meaningful experiences designed around real human needs, inspiring and improving people’s lives.
Josh’s creative leadership has helped Cake & Arrow grow from a 3-person boutique to a 50-person full-service, digital agency. He has created successful initiatives for companies such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Citigroup, Pepperidge Farm, Schwinn, MetLife, Lowe’s and Virgin Mobile—receiving awards from Cannes Cyber Lions, Communication Arts, IMA, Davey Awards and Adobe. Featured in Crain’s, Internet Retailer, Multichannel Merchant and DM News, he speaks regularly at industry events on visual design, branding, usability, ecommerce and mobile strategy.
Collaboration, individual growth and a healthy work/play balance characterize the environment he’s spearheaded at Cake & Arrow, including a successful mentoring program introducing teenagers to technology and business, and an internal educational program, C&A U. Josh is a graduate of University of Michigan and once owned a precious piglet named Vincent (may he rest in peace). A national family team co-chairman for March of Dimes and captain of Team Levine, he lives in New York with his wife, daughter, son, and French Bulldog, Big Joey Carmichael.
